Intruder in Dulwich Village

For those members who have not subscribed to the Dulwich Village WhatsApp group, an intruder has been spotted at two houses in the village over the last couple of days. The following are excerpts taken from messages posted on the WhatsApp group:

“Just to let you know, I’m sorry to say we have had an intruder come down the side of our house and into the garden. They have gone through the garden shed and garden room at the end of the garden. They left a bike abandoned on the ground.”

“We’ve also had an intruder. He came at 1:30 am on Sunday morning. He made his way in to the back garden explored thoroughly and then pushed his way into the shed adjoining the garage. We believe he took a power drill and some cans of beer (alcohol free, as it happens). Then made his way into the front drive and cycled away. We’ve seen him on a couple of other occasions. We have him on camera.”

“Hi there, as I’ve already posted , we had an intruder about the same time early on Sunday morning. I reported it on the met police online portal and the police came round to see us this morning. The police are keen to catch this person as they seem to be targeting the area so please report the intrusion They are very keen for any images people have of any intruder(s) captured on cameras in the Village They asked that we all please report any further incidents and post photos we may have.”

In response to these messages, the following was posted:

“Very sorry to hear that and it underscores the importance of a padlock to show your insurance you are making efforts for security. However shed burglars can often move on somewhere else to house burgle with the implements they have stolen, so be vigilant everyone.”
