Dulwich Village area – CPZ Consultation

In addition to the Dulwich Village Phase 3 Design, as mentioned in the previous post, Southwark is about to launch a consultation on a controlled parking zone in Dulwich Village.

The consultation will open on 11th December and closes on 21st January 2024.

The initial document published by Southwark Council which includes a map of the proposed zone and details of drop-in sessions can be found at the following link:

  1. The Southwark consultations currently taking place,

    1. Turney Rd to Dulwich Village intersection
    2. controlled parking zone

    Will result in a significant loss of existing parking spots nearbye impacting the local residents, the local school and businesses.

    They both include;
    – removal of all existing parking bays on Turney Rd between Boxall Rd and Dulwich Village (7-8 places)
    – removal of most of the existing parking bays on Dulwich Village between Boxall Rd and Turney Rd (15-20 places).

    So in total around 25-30 parking spaces lost. No mention of it in either consultation. Possible more on Carlton Ave and Court lane.

    The parking areas have been replaced with yellow lines. (Refer to the plans in link below)

    Accepting the proposals will make finding a parking spot significantly more difficult under both Southwark proposals.

  2. The current changes brought in by Southwark (LTNs) have not been successful and have made life more difficult for many. The traffic build up in the village is one example. The new proposals are damaging for business and just plain irritating. Southwark are not interested in what local have to say.
