Southwark Streets for People – Cycling Plan

Southwark Council have recently published a draft cycling plan as part of their Streets for People initiative. The full plan can be read here.

An online survey has also been included and the link can be found at the bottom of Cycling Plan. The survey closes on 31st January 2024 so please make sure that you have your say as soon as you possibly can.

  1. My wife and I are in our 70s and can no longer ride cycles. Anything that restricts the use of our car is unhelpful and unwelcome. Consider senior citizens

  2. We need a proper bus route with more regular buses. Often at certain times of the day, the P4 is too full, so more services should be timetabled.

  3. This is classic magical thinking. In the dreamworld of Southwark Council, no one needs a proper integrated travel strategy because everyone will get on their bikes. No mention of public transport. No mention of the real issue of bike thefts which stop so many people cycling. No mention of those who need cars for reasonable reasons. No mention of how people will manage when it’s cold, icy and wet. Oh dear, when will they grow up?
