Dear All,

The Black Unity Bike Ride, now in its fourth year is an inclusive cycle for people of all ages. The route will wind its way across London on Saturday 5 August and end at Dulwich Park, where participants will have a chance to rest after their 16 mile cycle from Leyton Sports Ground with a big picnic from 1 to 6pm.

The event will be take place on the west lawns (see attached map). The site is completely open and both participants and non – participants can talk bike, have their bikes serviced get sports massages and relax to background music. There will be a children’s activity area and a variety of African and Caribbean food and drink (non alcoholic) will be available.

The set-up of the picnic will be from 7am to 12 noon. Though it is expected to be completed before this time, vehicle movement on the carriageway will be paused between 08:45 and 10:15, during Parkrun.

The first participants are expected to arrive from 12:30 (stalls and background music begin at 1pm) and the last participants should arrive by 3pm. Participating cyclists will arrive via the College Gate and dismount at the internal barrier to walk their bikes over to the picnic area. This will be assisted by stewards on foot, see site map.
