Event consultation – Pub in the Park Application

The following email has been received from the Events Department at Southwark Council:

Dear Dulwich Park Stakeholders,

Re: Stakeholder consultation – Pub in the Park, Dulwich Park – application reference: SWKEVE000453

We are writing to you to inform you that we are in receipt of an event application for Pub in the Park 2022.

The size and nature of the event requires us to consult with site Stakeholders, in line with the processes set out in the Council’s Outdoor Events Policy.

The consultation period starts today, Tuesday 1 February and will close at midnight on Monday 28 February.

The consultation is intended to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to review event plans and to provide feedback on those plans.

Historical information:

This event took place in Dulwich Park in June 2021.

This event was issued a premises licence in 2020. The licence reference number is: 873970. You can view a copy of the licence on the Council’s Licence Register.

 Event description:

Pub in the Park is the biggest celebration of the best food and music the country has to offer. With a stellar line-up of chefs, pubs and music, Pub in the Park will play host to Tom’s (Kerridge) Michelin-starred pub, The Hand & Flowers, plus a selection of other top UK pubs and restaurants who will serve signature tasting dishes. Combined with great live music, chef demos, top quality shopping and other festival fun, Pub in the Park has become the UK’s fastest growing food and music festival.

Event dates: 24th – 26th June 2022
Session times: Fri 24: 18:00 – 22:30

Sat 25: 11:30 – 16:30 & 18:00 – 22:30

Sun 26: 13:00 – 19:00

Capacity: Up to 4,500 ticket holders per session
On site: From 8am on Monday 20th June 2022
Off site: By 6pm on Wednesday 26th June 2022

Event Officer comments:

  • COVID-19: This event will comply with any COVID management measures that are advised by the Government at the time of the event.
  • Health and Safety: All event health and safety documentation for the event is presented to Southwark’s Safety Advisory Group (SAG) for approval before the event can go ahead. The Pub in the Park organisers have presented initial event plans to the SAG on 18/01/2022 and are due to present plans to the SAG again on 17/03/2022
  • Noise management: The Pub in the Park team will appoint a noise consultant to produce a Noise Management for this event . Noise levels will be agreed by the Council’s Environmental Protection Team. There are a number of noise conditions listed on the Premises Licence that the event must comply with. A resident hotline number will be live for the duration of Pub in the Park’s occupation of the site.
  • Traffic and transport management: The Pub in the Park team will produce a traffic and transport management plan for this event in liaison with the Council’s Highways team and TFL. Most attendees are expected to travel to the event by public transport – this is based on historical data from 2021.
  • Crowd management: The Pub in the Park team will appoint an event stewarding and security company to manage people at the event and specifically during ingress and egress periods. A crowd management plan will be produced in liaison with Safety Advisory Group members.
  • Waste management: The Pub in the Park team will appoint a waste management company to manage the waste at this event. Event waste will be collected both inside and outside of the event site and disposed of appropriately.
  • A dedicated stakeholder web page is available on the Council’s web about this event. The page is intended to provide stakeholders with current information about the event and the status of the event application.   • The Pub in the Park organisers will deliver a resident information letter to households around the perimeter of the park. The letter will include details of the event and contact numbers for the Pub in the Park team whilst the event is in situ.
