Pub in the Park Update

Extract of Licensing Decision on Appeal:

Following appeal on a legal technicality, the application for Pub in the Park has been granted in perpetuity to run first in 2021. The local residents’ concern of disturbance was acknowledged. If any of the licensing objectives is undermined, then an application for a review of the licence can and should be made.

Pub in the Park – Update

The application made by Brand Events TM Limited for a premises licence to be granted under the Licensing Act 2003 in respect of the premises known as Pub in the Park, Dulwich Park, College Road, London SE21 7EB be granted in part as follows for
one three-day event in 2020 with a maximum capacity of 4,999 and the following hours:
• Friday 3 July 2020: 17:00 to 23:00 (one session)
• Saturday 4 July 2020: 11:00 to 23:00 (three sessions)
• Sunday 5 July 2020: 11:00 to 19:30 (two sessions)
Live Music to conclude at 22:30 on Friday and Saturday and 19:00 on Sunday.
Sale of alcohol to conclude at 22:15 on Friday and Saturday and 18:45 on Sunday. This decision is accompanied in customary Southwark Council style by a raft of 90 conditions, including several regulating noise levels. These are to be kept below 67dB LAeq.

The Applicant has already intimated that they may appeal.

Forthcoming event 2-5 July 2020 ‘Pub in the Park’

Southwark Events have received an application for a ‘Pub in the Park’ event in Dulwich Park with the chef Tom Kerridge, it would be on the West Lawns (ie the football pitches nearest the car park), and would include food, alcohol sales and live music.  Attendance 3,500 for each of 4 sessions. The ‘event build’ will commence 28 June and be cleared by 8 July.
If you wish to object there are two applications – 
1) Event License – consultation period expires Wednesday 11 December; objections can be on any grounds (increase in traffic,  parking problems , noise, damage to park , residents prevented from using large area of park for at least 10 days etc); e-mail objections to quoting the event reference SWKEVE000303
2) Premises license – consultation period ends Friday 13 December, objections on grounds of prevention of crime, public nuisance, protection of children from harm; e-mail objections to quoting License Number 870949.  Application can be viewed at

Event Name – Tom Kerridge presents ‘Pub in the Park’

Event description;

The event is ‘Pub in the Park’ (PitP), presented by high-profile celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge. The Dulwich Park event will be one of a series of PitP events held at various locations across the country, including Chiswick House in West London. 

The event would take place over the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July 2020 

It is run in AM and PM sessions and each session can accommodate up to 3,500 ticket holders.

This consultation will run for a period of 28 days, finishing on Wednesday 11th December.

Please note; The event will require a premises licence and in line with this requirement, the organisers of the event are expected to submit a premises licence application this week. The Blue notices advertising the premises licence application will be displayed around the park within a 24 hour period of the application being submitted. The premises licence consultation will also run for a period of 28 days.
